Termites
Small holes in wood, crumbling drywall,
sagging doors or floors, insect wings, and small mud tubes are
some of the more obvious potential signs of termites. But, even
if you don’t notice any of these signs, that doesn’t necessarily
mean
termites, or the conditions that invite them, aren’t there.
That’s because termites are masters at avoiding detection,
remaining completely hidden within walls and wood while they do
their worst damage. Regular inspections by EnviroPest are the
only way to ensure your home truly is, and remains, free from
termites and the damage they can cause.
EnviroPest's Team Members have the training in termite biology
and behaviour to identify, prevent, or responsibly treat
termite
problems, before they get out of control. And they use the most
advanced and effective termite defence products to help prevent
problems and damage over the long term.
The first thing EnviroPests Team Member will do is perform a
thorough initial inspection of your home. The purpose of the
inspection is to determine if, where, and how termites are
getting in. In order to find food (wood/cellulose) and moisture,
they will squeeze through cracks as narrow as the thickness of a
sheet of paper. Expansion joints, foundation cracks, tiny gaps
around plumbing, and electrical service entries are all
potential entry points. Every accessible inch of the house that
comes into contact with the ground will be examined, and the
entire structure will be inspected for signs of damaged wood and
termite shelter tubes. Your EnviroPest Team Member will find
termite activity and can also explain how to correct any
conditions in your home that invite termites. There are two
types of services that Enviropest offers and they are Termite
Baiting and Termite Liquid Treatments. Your termite inspection
will let you know what program will be best suited to your home.
Termite Control
Termite Liquid Treatment Information
Once your EnviroPest Team Member has found
evidence of termite activity and requires a liquid application
several steps are needed to control your termite problems. Then
EnviroPest will apply a liquid dilution of Termidor along the
foundation walls of your home to create a continuous treatment
zone.
The application method is called "trenching and rodding," and
may sometimes require drilling holes into the concrete
foundation of your home for maximum protection. Your Termidor
Certified Professional may also treat the interior of your home,
depending on the extent of the termite infestation and damage.

Termite Baiting
Once you have the
Sentricon® Termite Colony Elimination System, you can relax.
It starts protecting homes just as soon as it's installed, using
an ongoing cycle of monitoring and baiting. Here's how the
process works to eliminate termite colonies:

|
|
A EnviroPest
Team Member inspects the property for signs of termites
addressing all entry points and signs of activity.
|

|
|
The EnviroPest Team Member places
Sentricon® stations flush with the ground in
the soil around the home. This process allow for easy
access and makes the stations blend into your yard and
around your home.
|

|
|
During your termite protection
services, an Enviropest Team Member monitors the
Sentricon® stations for termite activity
using sticks of wood that attracts local termites in
that area. If these sticks contain termites during one
our treatment services we will replace with a termite
baiting solution.
|

|
|
Your Colorado's Choice team member will
use a Baitube™ device containing Recruit™ termite bait
to these termites, which they share until the colony is
eliminated. |
 |
|
With the Colorado's Choice
Termite Protection Program our continues monitoring
schedule will help to discover newly invading colonies.
A new colony may invade and show up in
Sentricon® stations long after the initial
colony has been eliminated.
That’s what’s so great about the
Sentricon® System. It’s equally successful at
stopping a colony that is attacking a home and at
stopping a colony that may attack a home. Treatment and
prevention. In fact, homeowners with no known termite
problems have the
Sentricon® System installed solely to make
sure it stays that way. Your home may have a security
system to alert you to a human break-in. Why not one to
alert you to a termite break-in? |
